In ANSYS Workbench, we usually process the geometry model in SpaceClaim, and then enter the structural module for corresponding preprocessing work. For example, here we use the structural statics module to model and calculate an assembly.

In SpaceCliam, this assembly model is established. The assembly model consists of two parts: the bottom is one part, and the small block on top is another part.

Entering the structural statics module, the geometry has already been imported. So, in some cases, if we want to modify the position of this small block, of course, we can return to SpaceClaim to modify the geometry model. But actually there is a simpler and faster method, which is to directly use the Part Transform function in Mechanical.

Right-click on Model and Insert a Part Transform.

In this
Part Transform, specify the small block as the target Geometry. Then based on the current global coordinate system, move it 20mm in the X direction, 3mm in the Z direction, and rotate 45 degrees around the Y axis.

You can preview the new position of the small block.

Finally, you can confirm by right-clicking on the
Part Transform and selecting Transform.

After confirmation, you can get the updated assembly model. Based on this model, you can perform the corresponding calculations.

At this time, if you open SpaceClaim, the assembly position of the original model has not been changed. This shows that through
Part Transform, you can modify the assembly relationship in Mechanical without modifying the assembly relationship of the original geometry model.
