Fluent Meshing Mesh Quality Not Good Enough? A Quick Optimization Trick

After generating volume mesh in Fluent Meshing, the current mesh quality will be displayed. For example, the mesh quality in the figure below shows

Orthogonal Quality, with the minimum Orthogonal Quality value of 0.10. This quality is relatively poor and needs to be improved.

Here is a quick method to automatically adjust the mesh and improve its quality. In the left tree, right-click on Generate the Volume Mesh and select Insert Next Task – Improve Volume Mesh.

Orthogonal, or Skewness.

You can also set the quality standard you want to achieve, for example

Orthogonal value reaching 0.15.

Then you can click Improve Volume Mesh to optimize the mesh and improve mesh quality. After optimization, the minimum

Orthogonal value is 0.15.
