About SubWindow View
During Fluent calculation, we can view the residual curves and monitor key physical quantity variation curves in real time. The default window is as follows:

Here we can try using Fluent’s SubWindow View feature, which is a multi-window view management function in Fluent. It has the following main features:
- Simultaneously display multiple monitoring panels
You can simultaneously display multiple result windows such as residual curves, drag report curves, temperature report curves, etc. in the same interface, without repeatedly switching between tabs, making it convenient to compare the variation trends of different physical quantities during iteration in real time.
- Facilitate convergence status judgment
While checking whether residuals have dropped to the convergence threshold, simultaneously confirm whether target physical quantities such as temperature, pressure, velocity, and drag have stabilized, to comprehensively judge whether the calculation has reached stable convergence.

Enable SubWindow View
Simply right-click the mouse on the top tab and select
SubWindow View. If you need to return to the single-window tab layout, simply right-click the window tab and select
Tabbed View
to restore.

After enabling SubWindow View, the interface is divided into multiple sub-windows, such as the four sub-windows in the figure below:
- Top left is the Mesh model;
- Middle left is the residual convergence curve (continuity equation, velocity in each direction, energy equation, etc.);
- Top right is the wall drag variation curve with calculation iterations (eventually stabilizing);
- Bottom left is the model outlet average temperature variation curve with calculation iterations (eventually stabilizing);
This interface layout greatly improves the monitoring efficiency during Fluent calculation. For users, it can improve efficiency to a certain extent and intuitively judge whether the calculation has converged stably.
